Hollywood casting director Reed Pickerson of Reel Talent Agency says Middle Eastern actors should be grateful for the roles and opportunities that they have.

After watching several documentaries on Middle Eastern American actors and comedians complaining about being typecasted for specific roles, Reed Pickerson of Reel Talent Agency says he has come to the realisation that they’ve either become too entitled or are simply delusional.
First of all, American show business generally speaking and Hollywood specifically, is over represented by Jewish Americans, which means the majority of them are either pro-Israel, pro-Zionist or both. And therefore, by default, they aren’t too fond of Middle Easterners to begin with. And one is supposed to be surprised they are messing with these Middle Easterners by giving them the “Arab” roles? Says Reed.

Many would argue, while that might be the case, there should still be a degree of sensitivity and cultural respect. Well, let’s take a look at the same exact situation but with a different ethnic background, says Reed.
Imagine a black guy who is auditioning for plays which are all ran and organised by the Ku Klux Klan, and he is upset or offended, that every role he is being offered is the role of the “Nigga being hung.” And we don’t mean hung like Wesley Pipes i.e. having a baby negro arm between your legs, that’s not the kind of hung we're talking about.
Would anybody be surprised? Or would everyone tell him the same thing, “Hey you! Can you exercise a degree of self awareness in where it is you’re trying to find a job?”
Another example is the cult hit from the late 1990s, The 13th Warrior, about a 9th century Arab prince from Baghdad who got exiled or banished. It was over some poontang of course, what else do dudes usually beef about, it’s always over poontang, money or both. And he gets banished up north to live with the Vikings. And the role for the 9th century Arab prince from Baghdad i.e. the 13th Warrior stars who? Antonio Motha-efin Banderas!

You mean to tell me, that in a city like Los Angeles with a population census of 10,014,009 people, there are whole countries that don’t have those population numbers, the best candidate you could find to play the role of a 9th century Arab prince from Baghdad, is a god damn Mexican?
I understand this rant is starting to sound like Eddie Griffin or Paul Mooney complaining about Cleopatra movies being played by non-Africans, but it is what it is, says Reed Pickerson.
So take the Arab roles and be grateful for the consideration in the first place, says Reed! Because if they're not taking it, guess what? There are 18 Mexicans waiting outside who are more than happy to take that "Arab" role.
What do you think, they’re out here just taking white people’s jobs? They’re taking white people’s jobs, black people’s job, brown people’s jobs, other Mexican people’s job, they don’t care! Tu tiene trabajando Senior? Muy bien! Si!
And this goes for the Iranian actors as well! Shut up and take the Arab roles!
But Habibi! But Habibi, we are Peeeeerrrrrsians!
Shut the heck up with that horse-shit! You take the Arab roles too! All you Middle Easterners look the same anyways!
