With the issue of global warming getting an unprecedented level of attention ever since the movement’s prophet, former Vice President Al Gore, unveiled it in the early 2000s, University of Victoria Professor Dr. Andrew Blizzard has come to realise that taking global warming seriously is not only one of the biggest wastes of time, but also makes no logical sense.
Rather than discussing how serious of an issue it is or when will we start to feel its ramifications, let’s approach the topic from the opposite end says Andrew. For the sake of argument, let’s assume that global warming is absolutely true and all of the doom and gloom predictions are 100% true. When are we expected to start living in the world depicted in “The Day After Tomorrow” film?

According to “The Science,” and the modern day prophet “Google,” we are expected to start feeling the first effects of global warming in 2100.

So imagine an average 20 year old individual who is just starting out their life. The majority of people on this planet are living paycheck-to-paycheck, trying to find or maintain a job, transitioning from having a job to having a career, paying off university student loan debts, qualifying for a mortgage, buying a home, purchasing a car to comfortably get to work because public transportation sucks, family obligations, chores, etc….
And this 20 year old is expected to make concessions on their lifestyle, concessions such as using public transportation instead of private vehicles, eating less or no meat, smaller residences, learn to enjoy eating bugs, consume less of everything, avoid air travel and for what? Some catastrophic event that might or might not happen long after they are dead?
And ironically, these concessions are being demanded by people who have no intention of letting go of their private jets, 300 meter long yachts and fancy lifestyles. What idiot would sacrifice the one life that they have, a life which you are supposed to live to the fullest, for some event that might or might not happen long after they are dead?
I’m not buying it says Andrew. He says get a gas guzzling H2 Hummer and entertain yourself by making Arnold Schwarzenegger voices when you’re sitting in traffic, “Get down! Get down! Get to the chopper! Now!”
