In July 2023 the PBD Podcast hosted by Patrick Bet-David brought on Anthony Weiner, a former American politician who served as the U.S. representative for New York's 9th congressional district from 1999 until his resignation in 2011, and it was the most bizarre interview I have ever seen says public relations consultant Chris McManage of B.S. & Associates.
Anthony Weiner’s responses to some of the questions during the interview were so wacky, I can’t tell whether to take them at face value or it was all a goof says Chris. Part of him is still waiting for the moment where Anthony will one day announce that his appearance on the podcast was an act and he was just trying to be funny.
Patrick Bet-David: “In 2011 you were charged and convicted for sexting with an underage girl, have you changed?”
Anthony Weiner: “We have a nuanced relationship with the notion of change in addiction, in that we believe you don’t stop being an addict.”
The Correct Answer: Lie you dumbass! Lie! Yes, I have changed and I understand that sending sexual text messages to underage girls is wrong.
Patrick Bet-David: “Have you watched Sound of Freedom, the movie? It’s about child trafficking, child exploitation and child pornography. Do you see this issue as a top 5 crisis issue in America today?”
Anthony Weiner: “The world of pornography is so varied and we have no idea what consent people have or have not given...”
The Correct Answer: Lie you dumbass! Lie! Diddling little kids and selling them into sexual slavery is absolutely horrific.
Patrick Bet-David: “Do you think it’s appropriate to have 10 year old kids in the state of California read books in schools that teach them how to give oral sex?”
Anthony Weiner: “You’re talking about a state that is 3,000 miles away and you’re trying to draw some conclusion about some horrible book.”
The Correct Answer: Lie you dumbass! Lie! Giving 10 year old children books that teach them how to suck on boys’ peckers is absolutely horrific.
This podcast interview gave me flashbacks of Michael Jackson’s interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes where he also fumbled the most softball questions of all time says Chris.
Interviewer: “Do you still think that it’s acceptable to share your bed with children?
Michael Jackson: “Of course. Of course. Why not?”
The Correct Answer: Lie you dumbass! Lie! No it’s not okay to sleep with children in the same bed under any circumstances.
Bringing it back to Anthony Weiner, the guy was a professional politician for over a decade. Everyone knows, a politician is a euphemism for a professional lier. For him to fumble such softball questions, I don’t know what is more despicable, sexting underage minors or his positions on such cut and dry issues says Chris. A part of Chris though is still holding out hope that this was all a goof and he was just doing an act.
If this post earned a smile or a quiet “Okay, that was good,” consider dropping a small contribution.
